The W stands for Wedding - Jess and Jay get married at The W Hotel Boston
I welcome a challenge. Grooms can be challenging. I say, BRING IT ON! This is why an engagement session AKA "get to know you session" is essential. It helps when you have people that just aren't comfortable in front of the camera. And this was the case with Jessica and Jay and so I insisted we do one. When I met the groom for the first time, I loved how honest he was. His name is Jay and he was up front from the get go. "Listen, I hate having my photo taken. I just don't like the way I look and I feel really uncomfortable, unlike Jess, who is a natural". I assured Jay as well as Jessica, that all we were doing was walking around town, grabbing a bite to eat and I would just happen to have my camera around. This way, on their wedding day, Jay would know what was coming and that I would work around him, just like during the engagement session. Fast forward to Jessica and Jay's wedding day. Everything was amazing! They got married on a summer Sunday afternoon at the W hotel in Boston. That place screams symmetry. Not to mention ever inch of that spot smells like heaven. There are so many places to shoot there from the streets to Bliss Spa, to the Great Room, where floor to ceiling windows surround the entire hotel. It's natural light heaven. And the bridal suite? FORGET IT. I was on sensory overload and wanted to shoot in every inch of that place. And do you know what the best part was? So did Jay! When I saw him right before the ceremony, he said "I know about you and how you work! I'm ready for you girl!" Then he hugged me and that was that!
Jessica was so beautiful with the most amazing alabaster skin and spectacular red hair. She had two dresses, one full length and then one that was tea length, which she changed into before her formals. With a little help from Celebrations by Karen F. Murphy event planning, Jessica was able to bring her entire wedding vision to fruition. Jess's bouquet was actually made from paper flowers! Her kitten heels where just that...CATS! No detail was left undone. A candy bar, fun finger kid food including tomato soup, grilled cheese, mac and cheese, sliders, french fries and onion rings! I was in heaven. The best part of the day was hands down the formals! Jessica and Jay were open to anything and everything, from shooting in their suite, playing with the amazing wallpaper throughout the W, as well as doing some fun shots in Bliss Spa! Take a peek below and see for yourselves.
Thank you Jessica and Jay, working with you was sheer bliss!
