Eat, Drink, Party, Marry—Janine and Matt get married at The Kirkland Tap and Trotter
Janine and Matt are super foodies—just like me. They love to laugh—just like me. They LOVE to dance—just like me! I love them, and they love me! (At least I think they love me!) They were a dream couple to photograph for these special moments in their lives. A month before their celebration in May, Janine and Matt eloped at City Hall in Boston, and I was there to photograph this special part of their story. You can read about it in my previous post.
But I really couldn't wait to capture the first wedding ever at The Kirkland Tap and Trotter in Somerville. Well, it wasn't a "wedding," but I'm going to call it that because everyone gathered together to celebrate their marriage (regardless of the fact that it took place a month earlier). The owner of Kirkland Tap and Trotter owns Craigie on Main too. This is the first wedding they have ever done there. The couple did what's called a buyout in the food industry world and closed the whole place down to celebrate.
The day of the wedding, I met Chris Llerena, my 2nd shooter, in front of the restaurant to grab some detail shots before Janine and Matt arrived with their families for some group shot fun. Across the street from the restaurant was this parking lot that housed an ice making company. So we did some fun formals in front of these massive dry ice bins. After about 30 minutes for formals, it was time to party and EAT OUR FACES OFF!

Yup, MAJOR love on the food! Matt and Janine know how to do it right!!!!
I have to say that Matt has the most contagious smile and laugh, and it came through in all the photos. Janine, who told me she wasn't much when it came to wearing her heart on her sleeve in public, was filled with joy that came through in tears and smiles throughout the evening, which made for wonderful photos.
Matt and Janine really made me feel like a part of their posse. They have the most wonderful family and friends. As a matter of fact, we are trying to make some dinner plans as I write this!
